 Who is James (Jim) Hartley? He's an accomplished association executive with more than 25 years of experience and a record of success. July 1, 2007, he became the Executive Director of the Ohio Society of Association Executives. For the previous 14 years, he had been Vice President of Membership & Technology for The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the nation's 4th largest CPA state society. During that time, membership in The Ohio Society of CPAs has increased 70% from 14,000 to more than 24,000 members -- the largest increase among all state CPA societies in the USA. The Ohio Society of CPAs was recently identified as one of nine “remarkable organizations” in the nation in a new book published by American Society of the Association Executives (ASAE) and Center for Association Leadership – 7 Measures of Success: What Remarkable Associations Do That Others Don’t. The organization is cited for exceptional member service and successful strategies for adapting to change. Jim is a member of ASAE, the Association Forum of Chicagoland and the Association Societies Alliance.
